Feet. 35; Weight-6 lbs., 3 ozs. Color-Green Eureka! Tetragon 5 Tent, Green
Customer Review: Great Tent for packpacking for two
I have used this tent on four backpacking trips and it is awesome for the money. It is 1) lightweight 2) very fast to set up 3) very sturdy in moderately high winds 4) reliable zipper, etc. 5) strong poles When alone I can fit my entire backpack and my 6'1" self easily inside (if taller than this you'll need to sleep diagonally). The gear loft overhead is nice, and you can sit up for changing clothes. Have shared it with another person on one winter packpack trip (recently in Shenendoah Nat Park) and there was plenty of room for sleeping for two without being on top of each other. I've been rained on only once, slightly, and it kept me dry. On one backpack trip with 11 people to Mount Mitchell, mine seemed to be the only tent that didn't have condensation all over the top of it in the early AM. I do recommend buying some of the inexpensive aluminum pole stakes at REI or similar, to replace the metal ones it comes with, if you want to save a few ounces more weight. Overall outstanding value.
Customer Review: Tent
Can't complain - I plan to waterproof this tent, but it was very easy to set up (without looking at the instructions) and fits nicely in its carrying bag. It's not the lightest tent, but for short backpacking trips or car camping it should be great. For the price, it's a good deal.

When most people are planning their vacations, it never occurs to them to head up to Alaska. But actually, the 49th state has some amazing sights that are well worth the trip. How many people do you know that can say they've been there?

The summer is definitely the time to go. In the winter, it's all white and freezing cold. But in the summer, temperatures are mild and colors are everywhere. In June, there are about 18 hours of sunlight in a day! The sun just seems to hover there around the horizon, teasing, like it's going down, and then it's up again before you know it. You really have to stay up late to see the night time in Alaska.

If you aren't up for the long drive (and paying for gas!), you can always rent stuff when you get there, like tents, camping supplies and even RV's. Lots of people get to Alaska by flying because it's such a long trip.

Denali National Park - See North America's Tallest Peak

Denali is where you'll find Mt. McKinley, the highest mountain in North America at 20,000 feet. That's a lot of feet. If you've ever been to Colorado and seen the fourteeners (14,000 feet), you know that 20,000 is high.

Denali is almost 250 miles from Anchorage, so it's not too bad a drive. The park has all kinds of accommodations, ranging from hotels to RV parks, to backpacker campgrounds that are only accessible by foot. If you're not up for hiking, there are bus tours that take you around to see the tundra. Some of those are all day trips.

And, now for the number one question everybody always asks about Denali - "Will I see grizzly bears?" There's a good chance you will see them, along with wolves and caribous as well. Denali is a pristine, undeveloped area without a whole lot of tourists.

Glacier Bay National Park - See The Oldest Ice Cubes In America

Glacier Bay can boast some true relics of the past - giant glaciers from the ice age that are still melting. You can actually put your finger on chunks of ice that are older than some species of mammals. These massive glaciers are still melting, as they go, they are uncovering huge valleys that haven't seen the light of day in around 20,000 years.

Just like the name says, Glacier Bay is a bay right on the ocean. It's located on that little piece of Alaska that hangs down from the rest of it. There is a chain of islands that goes up and down the coast.

In the summertime, it warms up quite a bit, but those giant hunks of ice are still there. Occasionally, you'll see one slip into the ocean with a splash. These giant ice cubes will still be here long after we're gone.

You've got bears here, too, but also killer whales, big salmon, and species of birds you won't see anywhere else. Whale watching is one of the biggest tourist attractions at Glacier Bay. It's also renowned for kayaking, rafting, hiking and great camping.

Kenai Fjords National Park - See The Humpbacked Whales And Sea Lions

The Kenai Fjords are on the southern coast of Alaska. You'll find glaciers here, too, and some of these fields of ice look like something from another planet. There are times when the sun hits them just a certain way and they seem to glow. The glaciers at Kenai Fjords are some of the easiest to get to, which is one of the reasons it's such a popular tourist spot.

Kenai has whale watching tours where you go out on a boat and see giant humpbacked whales. Here, you can add to your bears and whales an amazing variety of unique bird species, some of which are about as big as the bears and whales!

Kenai has camping and summer cabins. There are also hotels, lodges and bed and breakfasts. Kenai is a popular spot with more conveniences than some of the more rugged places.

If you like amazing natural beauty like you won't see anywhere else, Alaska is a wonderful trip. It's a camper's paradise.

Take off on a trip in your motor home to see all of North America. How come none of the friends that I have mentioned this film to have never heard about it? What a shame!
Customer Review: How to tell a extraordinary history
Simply a extraordinary DVD, that tells us a lot of the human nature. Not only for the history, althoug not always fi to the real facts, but the focus on the personal dramas that could have been happend is the point: what would have been thought, felt and done if you have been in the place of that men? How about to wear the shoes of those peoples? The movie brings you to that questions.

Most people think of toy haulers as garages on wheels for dirt bikes or ATVs (all-terrain vehicles). They don't see any connection between toy haulers and normal camping. The truth is quite different. The first ones were little more than garages with basic amenities for camping. The emphasis was on enjoying the toys. Except for transporting the toys, the trailer was secondary.

For many years, they were in the same category as pop-up tent trailers - warm weather only. It was nearly impossible to find one suitable for four-season use. So, what happened to change all that?

Guys would get together, load up their dirt bikes and/or ATV's, and then disappear for the weekend. They'd come back grungy and exhausted. They had had a great time out there. Their wives got jealous! The guys were having all the fun! The gals wanted to get away, too. One by one, they insisted on coming along.

It wasn't so much that they wanted to go out and ride dirt bikes; they wanted to relax and enjoy the weather and the scenery. The fact that they could spend that time with their guys was also very important.

Once the women started coming along, the old-style toy haulers were no longer good enough. Women like the kind of comfort offered by regular travel trailers. They wanted heating or cooling, bedrooms and bathrooms.

Toy haulers started getting more luxurious. The really big step came when they become available with separate garages. Today, you can walk in the front door and not know you're standing in a toy hauler! Another wonderful feature of the new generation of them is four-season capabilities. Today, you can even take your new four-season rig into snow country and go skiing! More and more campgrounds are open year-around.

But, that's not the only way people are using these. I know of a couple who are into antiques. They load antiques into the garage of their toy hauler and travel to an antiques show for the weekend. They sell what they can and bring back antiques they have bought. For the record, they don't own any dirt bikes or ATV's.

Others use that garage area as a second bedroom for friends or relatives who travel with them. Again, they're not using it to haul any toys.

Toy haulers of today are a far cry from the originals. Today, they're among the most versatile RV's on the market. You can even buy motor homes with a separate garage for toys! Recently, I even saw a commercial for a pickup slide-in camper that can open up and haul an ATV or a couple of dirt bikes. They are the newest, latest and hottest thing on the RV scene today. More and more people are buying these versatile RV's for a variety of reasons and really enjoying them.

When are you getting yours?

Ed Hill was introduced to "camping" by the US Army nearly half a century ago. Since then, he has traveled across most of the United States and parts of Europe using a variety of tents and RV's. Ed is now sharing that love of RV travel in his blog, http://www.EnjoyRVTravel.com

Coleman SunDome 7- by 7-Foot Three-Person Dome Tent

7' x 7', 1 Room Sundome Tent, Sleeps 3, Weathertec System, Keeps You Dry, Easy Set Up, Innovative Design Makes Setup Easier & Faster, Comfortable, Adjustable Airflow System Increases Comfort Inside Your Tent, Organization, Includes Features To Keep Your Tent Tidy, Bright Peacock/Alpine Colored Walls, 52'" Center Height.
Customer Review: good tent
good tent but you can get a bigger one at wal mart for same price
Customer Review: Good tent
I used this tent this weekend and it's a decent tent for the price. I have a queen sized air matress and it pretty much took up the whole tent with about a foot of room on each side. It wasn't windy so I didn't even use the tent stakes, and it didn't rain the night I was camping but it did rain during the day before I set up so the ground was a bit wet. I had no water problems inside the tent. Setup was easy, took about ten minutes by myself. Breaking down was quick and the tent fit easily back in it's case. If I had to buy another one I would get the next size up for a little more room to store your gear.

There is nothing more exciting than seeing a herd of elephants wandering past your camp whilst youre sitting down having dinner with the biggest sunset you have ever seen in the background. A safari holiday in Kenya is truly amazing. The weather is gorgeous, the sites are beautiful and the wildlife of course is amazing.

The beaches are a great place to un-wind after your 5 days safari; of course you can go for longer or shorter than that. After flying to the reserve in a tiny plane (Masai Mara being the most popular) you get driven to your camp by jeep and if youre lucky will see your first bit of wildlife. This alone will have you wanting more. Your camp will probably consist of tents (but not your average camping tent) built on brick foundations, a restaurant, and bar, all with stunning views over the plains.

You usually go out on three safaris a day, one before breakfast, one before lunch and one mid-afternoon. The guides are usually friendly and informative and they all no exactly where to go and at what time. The big five (as there known) animals to see are lion, rhino, elephant, leopard and buffalo. But of course there are tones more.

The best time to visit Kenya is around October time. The migration season will have you see thousands of wilder beasts crossing the plains to find food. If your very lucky you will see them trying to cross the rivers (full of crocodiles of course) to get to greener pastures. Another great experience is the balloon ride at dawn. Flying just before sunrise so you can get the best views of the plains.

The food at the camps is usually full of culture and you a will probably get to witness a bit of local music, making the evenings as enjoyable as the day. You may also get to go to a local Masai tribes camp and see the local culture at its best. It really is an eye opening experience.

All in all a safari holiday in Kenya is one of the most enjoyable things I have ever done and should definitely be on your things to do before you die list.

Lewis Waller is a keen traveler and writer for more information on safaris and Kenya and some great offers and money savers go to http://www.squidoo.com/kenya-safari

Eureka Medium Solar Shade Tent

Enjoy a comfortable day at the beach with this medium-sized, cabana-style Eureka Solar Shade, which provides restful protection from the sun and wind. Then known as the Eureka Tent & Awning Company, its first wares were canvas products--most notably, Conestoga wagon covers and horse blankets for nineteenth century American frontiersmen--as well as American flags, store awnings, and camping tents.
The company increased production of its custom canvas products locally throughout the 1930s and during the 1940 and even fabricated and erected the IBM "tent cities" just outside Binghamton. The seven acres of tents housed thousands of IBM salesmen during the company's annual stockholders meeting, which had since outgrown its previous locale. In the 1940s, with the advent of World War II and the increased demand for hospital ward tents, Eureka expanded operations and began shipping tents worldwide. Ultimately, upon the post-war return of the GIs and the resultant housing shortage, Eureka turned its attention to the home front during the 1950s by supplying awnings for the multitude of mobile homes that were purchased.
In 1960, Eureka's new and innovative Draw-Tite tent, with its practical, free standing external frame, was used in a Himalayan Expedition to Nepal by world renowned Sir Edmund Hillary, the first person documented to summit Mt. Everest only six years earlier. In 1963, Eureka made history during its own Mt. Everest ascent, with more than 60 of its tents sheltering participants from fierce 60+ mph winds and temperatures reaching below -20°F during the first all American Mt. Everest Expedition.
For backpackers and families, Eureka introduced its legendary Timberline tent in the 1970s. Truly the first StormShield design, this completely self-supporting and lightweight backpacking tent became one of the most popular tents the entire industry with sales reaching over 1 million by its ten year anniversary.
Eureka tents have also traveled as part of several historic expeditions, including the American Women's Himalayan Expedition to Annapurna I in 1978 and the first Mt. Everest ascents by a Canadian and American woman in 1986 and 1988. In recent history, tents specially designed and donated by Eureka sheltered Eric Simonson and his team on two historic research expeditions to Mount Everest, this time in a quest for truth regarding the 1924 attempted summit of early English explorers George Mallory and Andrew Irvine. During the 1999 expedition, the team made history finding the remains of George Mallory, but the complete mystery remained unsolved. Returning in 2001 to search for more clues, the team found amazing historical artifacts which are now on display at the Smithsonian.

Customer Review: Great Tent
We took this tent in our luggage to Kauai. It is light weigh, easy to set up and sturdy. We were at the beach and it was quite windy. The tent with stood the wind no problem. It has a window on each side which is great for air flow and the front can be closed to create a changing area. there is even a line build in to hang things on. It kept us out of the sun when we needed it and was easy to roll up and put away for the next time. One of the best items I packed for our vacation!!
Customer Review: great investment
We bought this solar shade to take on vacation to the beaches in Belize and Mexico. It traveled extremely well, was very easy to set up and was a relief to have, particularly where shade was not available. We used it with a family of four and thought it was great. The only thing I will probably do in the future is add some of my own velcro strips to the back "window" flap. When the breeze blew, the flap would not stay shut with the two little tabs provided. Easy enough to fix on my own, though. Would highly recommend to anyone wanting to ensure they have access to shade - fits in a suitcase for travel as well.

There are eight declared national parks in , that is areas of exquisite natural qualities, which encompasses one or more preserved or by human use bit changed ecosystems. I am 6'2 and I can BARELY fit in it by my self. But It does set up VERY easily, which Is the reason that I bought it

You can find many suppliers for camping equipment online these days. You can in fact choose between buying your camping equipment from the UK suppliers online, or from the one of the numerous stores you can find across the country.

Buying the right camping equipment is crucial to your enjoying your camping trip without any worries. And for buying these you need reliable suppliers. The UK suppliers take the cake where it comes to customer satisfaction and fulfilling the individual needs of the customer. All you need to do is to select the right camping gear according to your needs and requirements and then look around for a reliable supplier for camping equipment. You should always go out and survey the equipment that you want. This will give you hands-on information about the details of the equipment, like the kind of space in a tent or the comfort of the straps of the backpack, etc. . You can thus, also check the quality of the equipment and ensure that it lasts for many camping trips altogether.

You can draw out a list of camping suppliers from the internet itself. Many UK suppliers have branched out and now cater to almost all kinds of camping needs of a varied lot of people. Since the competition amongst the hundreds of camping equipment suppliers on the internet is immense these days, UK suppliers of camping equipment have now developed the ability to gauge and understand the customer's needs over the internet.

Accessibility and time lag were major problems in the past as the camping equipment stores used to take a long time to deliver the equipment that you, in the first place, had to spend a lot of time to find. However now, the client's needs are of utmost priority to the camping suppliers. There is a tendency of the UK customer to take the business to some other supplier if the service is not fast. The customer is now the king as he/ she has a choice from amongst the numerous camping equipment suppliers. It is just a matter of browsing through the internet to find the equipment you want and just selecting the chosen items.

Almost all camping equipment suppliers store all variety of equipment. So it will not be a difficult task for you to find the items you need. In fact, some UK superstores now also sell their own brand of camping gear and these are easier on your pocket too. Even equipment on the internet is cheaper as the suppliers do not have to incur any overhead costs they would otherwise have to, in case they have sell from stores. So you can just go buy the equipments without a worry now and enjoy a great camping trip.

Abhishek is a Camping freak!

Mongolian rugs are said to have been first made in Mongolia in around 4000 B.C. to 2000 B.C., when nomadic tribes used them to beautify their tents and to protect themselves from the desert's extremes of heat and cold. Mongolian rugs were originally used on floors, tables and as wall-hangings. Rugs were generally made with wool and were given a cotton backing. Mongolian wool is coarse and has short fibers which make it suitable for making rugs and carpets.

Mongolian rugs are available in several fixed sizes and myriad designs. Mongolian wool rugs are plush and soft. Mongolian rugs manufactured nowadays have sophisticated designs and add a touch of elegance to the home. Mongolian rugs can grace your home and give it a rich look. Thus many people go in for these types of rugs.

Wool was the preferred material for Mongolian rugs as it was resilient and easy to clean and more affordable when compared to silk. Traditionally, Mongolian wool rugs used to be dyed only with specific organic colors derived from indigo, saffron, sumac, turmeric and pomegranate. Nowadays rugs come in both bold and soft colors such as ivory, royal blue and the like.

Mongolian wool rugs are either handwoven or machine-made. Machine-made rugs are cheap, but compromise on quality. They are thinner and less dense than handmade rugs. On the other hand, handmade rugs are much more costly but more durable and eco-friendly. Handmade Mongolian rugs are woven exclusively which makes them exquisite, precious and expensive.

Mongolian wool rugs are made by the traditional methods of weaving and knotting with pile. Though rugs are made nowadays using looms, the basic method has remained the same. The rug pattern is made by knotting with pile. The pile can also be knotted in a certain way so that it acquires a right or left inclination.

Mongolian wool rugs can cost you anything from $150 upwards depending upon the size of the rugs. Mongolian rugs made using wool and silk are quite expensive but add personality, comfort and beauty to the dcor of the place where they are used.

Wool Rugs provides detailed information on Braided Wool Rugs, Contemporary Wool Rugs, Discount Wool Rugs, Hand Tufted Wool Rugs and more. I had been searching all over for one of these things, and this one is the prettiest and most handy. Very cute! Thanks!
Customer Review: Great product
This mat has great bright colors and folds up nicely. The fact that this ties and has handles makes it very easy to use and take along.

Base camp sits at 12,000 feet stark, windy, unshaded from the blazing August sun, but an otherwise great place to stop for a snack. Voices echo across cold granite as the breeze wraps around dozens of tents, backpacks, cooking stoves, and bear-proof food canisters. An unopened package of banana chips on my lap is immediately snatched up by a marmot, unhindered by my presence and unfazed by my pursuit.

Here, the animals, the people, and the barren granite form a bustling community in the Sierra Nevada wilderness. The trail to Mount Whitney sees thousands of people each year, all in pursuit of the highest peak in the United States (excluding Alaska). The people crowd the trail, the animals exploit the people, and Inyo National Forest rakes in thousands of tourism dollars. They say if you want solitude, go to Antarctica. Mount Whitney is Disneyland for hikers.

Thats not saying Whitney should be avoided. Like Disneyland, theres a good reason crowds all congregate at one California landmark. Few other places in the world offer a well-tracked trail to 14,496 feet, where anyone with a pair of sturdy boots can trek to the top of a country, and a big one at that. Technical skills are optional on this trail, though patience and a degree of elevation tolerance is vital.

The trail begins at 8,368 feet in the Whitney Portal campground, at the end of a paved road from Lone Pine. The trailhead is a maze of parking lots, which, in the summer months, are nearly always filled to capacity.

This is the part of the forest where black bears rule; they bash in the windows of parked cars and steal whatever they find. So frequent are the bear burglaries that people are aggressively ticketed for leaving tempting packages in plain view.

I feel relieved when I walk into the wilderness and away from bear country. From the trailhead its over 11 miles and 6,000 vertical feet to the flat-topped summit, a gradual trail, but not for wimps. Whitebark pine forests slowly give way to exposed granite over the first 7 miles, then base camp marks a strenuous and rocky climb to Sierra Crest.

I drafted my dad and his friend Tom, two avid hikers in their late 40s, up the steep section of trail affectionately called 100 switchbacks. I lose count after 75. Most hikers complete this hike as two to three-day backpacking trip, but Dad, Tom and I are going to do it in a day.

Sierra Crest is marked at 13,600 feet, already higher than I have ever hiked. The elevation puts a clamp on my lungs, and I feel a vague sense of sleepiness creeping into my head, even though my heart is pumping. The trail rolls along the ridge behind sheer pinnacles. You could stumble and fall 2,000 feet, but the immaculate trail helps prevent that. Thousands of footsteps per year have worn a nice groove in the jagged mountain

At this point Im laboring up the trail, but it doesnt matter. Im a hiker that climbs to look, not conquer. The green and gold of Sequoia stretches across the horizon. Deep blue lakes sparkle beneath a cloudless sky. From here you can almost see the depths of Death Valley - the lowest point in the United States and only 90 miles from this point.

Dad and Tom are a ways ahead by the time I ascend the final slope - a gradual ramp that eventually levels off. This is the peak - flat, spacious, almost custom-designed for large capacities. A crowd of about a dozen people are scattered over the rocks. We plop next to a geographical marker - Latitude: 36 35 x; Longitude: 118 17 x, it says - and fix some lunch. We have great view of Lone Pine - 13 miles east, of Yosemite national park, of the expansive Nevada desert, of the Sierra Nevadas stretching over the horizon.

A strong wind whips past my head and muffles the incessant chatter. If I turn my head toward the sheer drop to the east I almost feel alone. Almost. They say if you want solitude, go elsewhere. If you want to see the spectacular top of Americas biggest and brightest, go to Whitney.

Directions: From Los Angeles take highway 14 to U.S. highway 395 north to Lone Pine, about 200 miles. Turn west onto Whitney Portal Rd. 13 miles to the trail head. Permits are required for this hike and are somewhat difficult to obtain. Call Inyo National Forest, Mt. Whitney District, (760) 876-6200, for more information.

About The Author

Jill Homer is a graphic artist and freelance travel writer currently residing in Tooele, Utah. This dome-style tent has a mesh ceiling and side vents for ample ventilation, water-proof rain fly with side-release buckles for easy attachment, and color-coded poles for quick-and-easy setup. Weighing 17 pounds, 7 ounces, the six-person Yellowstone has a 90 square foot floor area.
The shockcorded fiberglass poles have color coded clips that make setup a breeze. The tent also offers post and grommet type assembly with locking pole tips for convenience and security. Kelty's ArcEdge construction lifts floor seams up off the ground, preventing water seepage around the floor and wall seams. Other features include a large D-shaped door, gear loft loops, mesh interior pockets for gear storage, external guy points for added stability in windy conditions, and noiseless zipper pulls.
Specifications

Dimensions: 114 x 114 x 76 inches
Floor area: 90 square feet
Vestibule area: none
Weight: 17 pounds, 7 ounces
Seasons: 3
Doors: 1
Windows: 2
Wall material: 68D 190T polyester taffeta
Floor material: 1800mm PU nylon taffeta
Fly material: 75D 190T, 1800 mm PU polyester ripstop rain fly
Number of poles: 3

   About Kelty
Kelty is based in Boulder, Colorado, and uses the natural backdrop of the Rocky Mountains to test, create, and continually innovate within their diverse outdoor product families of Apex, Backcountry, Trail, Basecamp and KIDS gear. Here are a few things to keep in mind:
  Expect the Worst
In general, it's wise to choose a tent that's designed to withstand the worst possible conditions you think you'll face. For instance, if you're a summer car camper in a region where weather is predictable, an inexpensive family or all purpose tent will likely do the trick--especially if a vehicle is nearby and you can make a mad dash for safety when bad weather swoops in! If you're a backpacker, alpine climber or bike explorer, or if you like to car camp in all seasons, you'll want to take something designed to handle more adversity.
  Three- and Four-Season Tents
For summer, early fall and late spring outings, choose a three-season tent. At minimum, a quality three season tent will have lightweight aluminum poles, a reinforced floor, durable stitching, and a quality rain-fly. Some three-season tents offer more open-air netting and are more specifically designed for summer backpacking and other activities. Many premium tents will feature pre-sealed, taped seams and a silicone-impregnated rain-fly for enhanced waterproofness.
For winter camping or alpine travel, go with a four season model. Because they typically feature more durable fabric coatings, as well as more poles, four-season tents are designed to handle heavy snowfall and high winds without collapsing. Of course, four-season tents exact a weight penalty of about 10 to 20 percent in trade for their strength and durability. They also tend to be more expensive.
  Domes and Tunnels
Tents are broadly categorized into two types, freestanding, which can stand up on their own, and those that must be staked down in order to stand upright. Freestanding tents often incorporate a dome-shaped design, and most four-season tents are constructed this way because a dome leaves no flat spots on the outer surface where snow can collect. Domes are also inherently stronger than any other design. Meanwhile, many three-season models employ a modified dome configuration called a tunnel. These are still freestanding, but they require fewer poles than a dome, use less fabric, and typically have a rectangular floor-plan that offers less storage space than a dome configuration. Many one and two-person tents are not freestanding, but they make up for it by being more lightweight. Because they use fewer poles, they can also be quicker to set up than a dome.
  Size Matters
Ask yourself how many people you'd like to fit in your fabric hotel now and in the future. For soloists and minimalists, check out one-person tents. If you're a mega-minimalist, or if you have your eye on doing some big wall climbs, a waterproof-breathable bivy sack is the ticket. Some bivy sacks feature poles and stake points to give you a little more breathing room. Also, if you don't need bug protection and you want to save weight, check out open-air shelters.
Families who plan on car camping in good weather can choose from a wide range of jumbo-sized tents that will accommodate all your little ones with room to spare. A wide range of capacities is also available for three- and four-season backpacking and expedition tents. Remember, though, the bigger the tent you buy, the heavier it will be, although it's easy to break up the tent components among several people in your group. It's also helpful to compare the volume and floor-space measurements of models you're considering.

Customer Review: Nice family tent.
This is a really nice tent. Easy to set up, spacious, good for car camping. The tent that we received has a zipper (on the door) that is quirky... it has trouble rounding the corners and doesn't always work right, so that sometimes the teeth pull apart and you have to "unzip" it and then slowly zip it again to make sure it works right ... and it zips better from the inside than the outside, so we've found that it is sometimes better when closing the door from the outside to put your hand on the inside of the tent and pull on that part of the zipper until you get it all the way around the corners. This is a minor frustration that might just be a small defect of our particular tent, and perhaps we could exchange it or have it fixed, but it didn't seem worth the trouble to me. Another frustration we had was when our toddler got ahold of the tent pole and snapped the cord. Totally our fault... we broke it, there was no default with that. But Kelty had great customer service and even though we explained exactly what happened, they replaced the pole. We just had to pay shipping one-way to send the broken pole to them.

Spain offers the visitor over 4,000 kms of coastline where s/he can enjoy shining sun and sapphire seas in wonderful settings.

And what a choice of sands! Golden sands, white sands, grainy sands, powdery sands, and even the black sands of the Canary Islands!

Allergic to sand? No problem! Just plump for a resort with smooth, white pebbles! Youll find a good selection!

Already holidayed several times by the Mediterranean? Then why not try the fairy-tale fishing villages washed by the Cantabrian Sea or Atlantic Ocean?

"Spanish beaches are the most environmentally healthy in Europe" says the Foundation for Environmental Education, which has awarded the much-coveted Blue Flag to 450 of the countrys beaches - more than any other participating contry!

Leading the way within Spain itself is the Costa Blanca, which received 48 Blue Flag awards. Then came the Costa Dorada (37) and Mallorca (33).

The Blue Flag Campaign, which started in 1987, is owned and run by an independent, non-profit-making organization called the Foundation For Environmental Education, or FEE for short.

The Campaign gives an exclusive, eco-label award (ie the Blue Flag) based on compliance with 27 criteria spread over four categories: water quality; environmental education and information; environmental management; and safety services.

The awards are made for one season only and if any of the categories are not fulfilled during the bathing season, or if conditions change over the season, the FEE withdraws the awards.

So, where are all these 1,779 coastal bathing areas to be found?

On Spains mainland, there are 16 different "costas", and then you also have the beaches of the Balearic and Canary Islands.

And, what are the names of these 16 sensational costas? PROS: The tent was very easy to set up and is very large for the price paid. CONS: The rain fly is too small and poorly designed. The rainfly only leaves 1-2 inches of coverage over the mess panels. A very slight breeze causes the rainfly to pull back and expose the tent to rain. The zippers were very cheap and would catch and tear the surrounding fabric. The walls leaked around the zippers and windows. You will need to buy heavy duty stakes. The stakes that come with the tent will pull out of the ground very easily because the tent performs so poorly in the wind. Summary: I would rate this tent as below average overall because it does not handle strong wind or rain very well. If you are creative and somewhat handy you can make this work for the price, but I was looking for something I could put up and not worry about it and I had to spend time each day salvaging the tent from the elements.
Customer Review: good for the price
i'm comparing this tent to a similar Coleman one I've used. Overall a good tent for the price i paid (was about $100). I used this in Yosemite when the temperatures reached the mid-30s at night. It doesn't hold heat as well as tents designed for colder temperatures, but luckily our sleeping bags were more than up to the task. The tent goes together well and is pretty roomy. I did not test it's water resistant properties.

So you, like me, are an avid camper. My family and I try and go on at least four camping trips during the year. Here in New Jersey, at least for me anyway, the best times to go are March through the end of May, and September through middle of October.

For me the summer months in New Jersey can get too humid, bringing out a plethora of bugs and mosquitoes, which quite frankly I do not find too pleasant of an atmosphere. I try to limit my time during the cooler months for that reason and for comfort. There is nothing more enjoyable about camping then sitting around the camp fire on a crisp cool evening. Something that I don`t feel you can enjoy during the dog days of summer.

Now that is not to say that camping isn't enjoyable here in New Jersey during the summer months. It is, as you will find many, if not all of the campgrounds, private and public are booked solid. The main reasons being, kids are out of school and the days are longer. New Jersey provides a wonderful selection of campgrounds throughout the state. You can hit the mountains in Northern New Jersey, the Jersey shore campgrounds down in Cape May. Whichever you choose, be prepared for the terrain.

If you go camping in Northern New Jersey, expect very rocky ground. If you are tent camping, which is something that I absolutely love to do, bring a good hammer with you to bang those tent stakes in. In fact, you probably should bring some heavy duty tent stakes with you. If you just use the ones that come with your tent, chances are they will bend on you.

A hammer is not needed central to south Jersey for camping as the soil is more soft without much rock to break through.

If you are a novice to camping I would recommend not so much "roughing" it on your first try. What I mean by that is, look for a campground that has water hookups near your site. It will make it easier on you when you need water for cooking, cleaning etc. Also choose a campground that has bathroom facilities. Not all of them have them, most do, but keep that on your checklist. I recommend the more new you are to camping, the closer your site should be to the facilities. It doesn't make the trip enjoyable when you have to go in the middle of the night and have to walk a half mile to get to the bathroom. Once you get accustomed to the camping lifestyle, trust me, it really is not that big of a deal.

Regardless of where you camp, what time of year, or who you go with, the key to a fun, safe and rewarding camping trip is in the planning. Sit down and write a list of everything you will need to make the trip comfortable. Separate your list into categories, such as food supplies, cooking and eating utensils, sleeping gear and so on. After you write your list, double check it against the list others you are going with might have made up. Maybe you forgot some things that they have, and vice-versa. The more time you spend in the planning process, the more easy your trip will be and the more fun you will have. There is nothing worse, then when you are about to cook those steaks over an open fire and you forgot the utensils to cook, or the seasoning or even worse, the steaks themselves.

Camping is a fun and enjoyable activity for the entire family. Proper planning, and not trying to extend beyond your comfort level, will make it even that more special.

About the Author:
Bruce A. However, it is, at heart, a lake and a place where the summer time offers some great water activities.

This is a boating paradise. The region in the summer offers all the magnificence of the high mountain country with all the beautiful views that are present in the winter season.

Lake boat rentals provide a way for summer visitors to explore the lake and all the wonderful things it has to offer. A boat rental can be secured through many of the resorts in the area. It provides a heady 74-inch center height and features a 1200 millimeter double-coated fly, sealed seams, and a polyethylene tub floor. The reflective zipper pulls make it easy to get in and out of the tent - even in the dark. It comes with a remote-controlled light (with a 65-foot reach) that attaches easily for exceptional nighttime security and visibility.
The Clean Sweep zippered floor flap makes it easy to sweep out debris. The two storage foot lockers are accessible from outside and inside the tent so you can easily store your gear out of the way. Other features include a quick-release buckle system, two hanging cup holders, and a removable door mat.
The Bugaboo's skylights offer large areas of mesh for maximum airflow and awe-inspiring views of the night sky. In addition, the rainfly has clear panels with zippered covers that offer you the option of having night views or no morning sun in your face. The Bugaboo's venting system creates a vortex that flushes hot air up through the roof, providing fresh air all night long. For maximum climate control, open or close the lower vents to feel the cool night breeze or keep warm air in.
The CB-5300 features the GoBe Dry Ultimate Rain Protection System, which combines patent pending fabric, component, and seam technology that culminates in exceptional protection from the elements, in particular rain, in any and all terrain. The DryTek Fabric repels moisture with a protective coating. The DryFloor Tub design elevates the floor seams to keep away water, while the DryGuard Skirt deflects rain from the floor seams and stake loops.
Specifications:

Base Size: 12 x 9 feet
Center Height: 74 inches
Poles: 4 x 9.5 millimeter fiberglass poles
Weight: 21 pounds
Sleeps: 4 to 5

   About Columbia Sportswear
Founded in 1938, Columbia Sportswear Company has grown from a small family-owned hat distributor to one of the world's largest outerwear brands and the leading seller of ski-wear in the United States. Columbia's extensive product line includes a wide variety of outerwear, sportswear, rugged footwear and accessories. Columbia specializes in developing innovative products that are functional yet stylish and offer great value. Eighty-year-old matriarch Gert Boyle, Chairman of the Board, and her son, Tim Boyle, President and CEO, lead the company.
Columbia's history starts with Gert's parents, Paul and Marie Lamfrom, when they fled Germany in 1937. They bought a small hat distributorship in Portland, Oregon, and named it Columbia Hat Company, after the river bordering the city. Soon frustrated by poor deliveries from suppliers, the Lamfroms decided to start manufacturing products themselves. In 1948, Gert married college sweetheart Neal Boyle, who joined the family business and later took the helm of the growing company. When Neal suddenly died of a heart attack in 1970, Gert enlisted help from Tim, then a college senior. After that, it wasn't long before business really started to take off. Columbia was one of the first companies to make jackets from waterproof/breathable fabric. They introduced the breakthrough technology called the Columbia Interchange System, in which a shell and liner combine for multiple wearing options. In the early 1980s, then 60-year-old Gert began her role as "Mother Boyle" in Columbia's successful and popular advertising campaign.
The company went public in 1998 and moved into a new era as a world leader in the active outdoor apparel industry. Today, Columbia Sportswear employs more than 1,800 people around the world and distributes and sells products in more than 50 countries and to more than 12,000 retailers internationally.
  What's in the Box?
Bugaboo dome tent, fiberglass poles, remote-controlled light, door mat, carry bag with handle
  Manufacturer's Warranty
Lifetime warranty
  Amazon.com Tent Guide
Selecting a Tent
Fortunately, there are all kinds of tents for weekend car campers, Everest expeditions, and everything in-between.

Customer Review: Finally, the right sized tent!
This is truely a great tent. Love the center height and the ability to stand up and get changed. We use this with a queen sized bed, a folding chair and plenty of extra room for the suitcase and odds and ends. We have used the buddy tent heater many times with this tent and it is just a great all around Mom and Dad tent. We recently purchased another on sale...just in case. For anyone tempted to Cpap while camping...this is the tent for you. The battery is easily accessable using the small access doors. As far as leaking concerns...this tent is great. We also pitch one of those folding 10X10s from Walmart and we say nice and dry.
Customer Review: Great "car camping" tent
This is the first tent I have owned where I haven't had to do extensive aftermarket waterproofing. Actually, I have done no aftermarket waterproofing on this tent, because it just didn't need it. For the money and size, this is an excellent tent for people car camping. I wouldn't want to carry it too far from the car, as it's unwieldy and heavy, but I didn't buy this for frontier wilderness camping so it serves my purposes well. Nice things about this tent: - Easy to put together. My first trip out with this tent, I was the only one with any prior experience, but with the help of one other person we got this up in less than 15 minutes with a strong wind blowing. I consulted the directions when things weren't intuitive, and they were simple and easy to understand. If you've put many tents together in the past, you can probably skip the directions. - It is spacious. It fits four adults comfortably with ample room for a small cooler, packs, and a dozen board games. Make sure you've pulled all corners completely out or you'll lose space - if it is put together properly you can fit six women in this tent, as long as you don't mind close quarters and leave the majority of items in the car. - It's very well-ventilated. That first camping trip was October in New England and it stormed most of the weekend. We could open the windows even though it was raining outside and not worry about water coming inside. - Waterproof. There are a few places that water can get in, but the tent itself is more waterproof than any tent I've owned in the past. Be careful of the small zippered slot on the front left of the tent - it's convenient to put the cord for inflatable air mattresses through, but if you do not close it back properly you will find a small amount of water might leak inside (about ½ a cup overnight). You don't need to put a tarp under the tent, the bottom is completely waterproof. - It comes with a light and remote, but we played so many board games we ended up hanging a lantern from the ceiling with no problem. - Height - I hate bending over, and my back hates it more. You can stand up straight in this tent. Keep in mind it is a dome tent though, so it slopes towards the sides. - Pockets - great for putting things you need to keep handy. Things I would change about this tent: - Stakes. These were not the greatest, especially in the wind with a sandy/rocky ground below the tent. I plan on replacing some with more heavy-duty stakes. - Dividers/attic - I discarded these, they are not something I would ever use, and I didn't see how to put them up. - Floor mat - it hooked to the tent, but I think it would be more useful if it were just attached along one edge. Overall, this is a great tent and my friends and I have a lot of fun camping with it.

Looking for a place to camp overnight on Horsey Island we were closing in on the rusty barges which are run aground in Hamford Water. Joel was up head and we could hear him cursing and as we reached him we could see why he was so upset. The sandy beach was there alright, but to get to it we would have to wade through five hundred yards or more of mud due to the tide now being completely out.

Before I knew it two of the guys from our group had already jumped out of their kayak seats and were knee deep in the mudflats and swearing liberally. I had not been that afraid for a long time and I remembered many stories of people being trapped in mud and stuck there until the tide came back in and they drowned.

I had a very bad feeling about the situation and knew the Walton backwaters were predominately marshland and mudflats. I tried to persuade the others that it was a bad idea and that we should call for help on our mobile phones. Before my appeal had even been considered everyone else had got out of their kayak seats and were taking their chances in the mud.

I was so tired and ached to get out of my inflatable kayak. A desperate need to just go for it took over me. I took a deep breath and leapt out of my kayak seat and sank immediately knee deep into cold, wet, martian like mud that surrounds Horsey Island. Within the first two steps I lost my trainers and was now wading barefoot. I was thankful only that it was so dark I could barely see where or what I was stepping on. What made progress through the mud infinitely worse was hauling my inflatable kayak weighed down with all my kit and paddles.

The two guys with the sit on top and the Perception kayak were moving marginally quicker due to these boats being significantly lighter. In the dark all I could hear was a royal amount of swearing as everyone tried to avoid falling over or plummeting too far into the foul-smelling mud.

It was impossible to take more than a few steps without collapsing on top of my inflatable kayak from exhaustion. I longed to just leave it there but I knew the tide would come back in soon and I would have no way of returning home. At one point I took a step forward and sank right up to my backside. At that split second I thought my luck had run out. I lunged backwards and grasped for my kayak. This scared me senseless as a few inches further and I would have been stuck and I doubt very much the others would have been able to pull me out.

I just wanted to be at home in my warm bed. Once I got my breath back I slowly and timidly stepped forward again. I could feel sharp pain in my feet and prayed it was just stones and shells I was stepping on and not broken parts of the rusting barges that we were passing uncomfortably close to.

I could just make out the shadow if Joel dragging the Perception kayak who was now a couple of hundred years up ahead. I shouted to him asking if he had made it to the beach yet and was dreadfully dismayed when he swore back that he had not. I cursed my inflatable kayak that although filled with air still weighed a ton. This was by far one of the worst experience of my life and I could not understand how on earth an easy paddle around Horsey Island had ended up with this nightmare scenario.

Heads down and with gritted determination we finally made it to the beach. Covered in mud and entirely confused we looked in the dark for somewhere to pitch out tents. He will sit and play with other toys inside the tent and sits and looks at books. He loves to play peek a boo too.
Customer Review: Good old-fashioned fun
We gave this to our 3-year old granddaughter for Christmas this past year. She plays it in and it is light enough to carry around. It is so much better than draping sheets/blankets over a card table like I had to do back in the ????'s. I don't know that it is particularly educational, but I find no fault with a kid just having fun with a toy and not learning a thing from it. So far I haven't heard of it breaking, so I'm assuming it's still in good shape.

Diwali is the most popular and most widely celebrated festival of India. The festival is celebrated to mark the end of Lord Ramas exile and his homecoming with wife Sita and brother Laxman. It is said that all the people of the Ayodhya were overjoyed on the occasion of the return of their king and decorated the entire town with lights. For this reason, Diwali is regarded as the festival of lights. To this day, houses are lit with earthen lamps, candles and now electrical lighting as well.

Diwali also signifies the victory of good over evil. Lord Rama returned from his exile only after defeating Ravana, the evil king of Sri Lanka who abducted Sita. Diwali stands for the inevitable dawn, no matter how dark the night. In modern day India, Diwali has not lost its significance and is celebrated with great excitement and vigor.

On Diwali, the interiors and exteriors of the house are decorated with flowers, rangolis, candles, earthen lamps and electrical lighting. Delicious meals are prepared and sweets and gifts are also exchanged with near and dear ones. Generally people wear new clothes on this festival. The night sky is lit in various hues and colors as people burst firecrackers to mark the occasion. Children immensely enjoy Diwali firecrackers and so they look forward to this extremely pleasurable festival.

This time is also boom time for traders and shopkeepers as people buy lots of things to gift and celebrate. These products range from jewelry, utensils, decoration items, idols of gods, electronics, clothes, eatables and other such goods. The market places are alive with activity and laced with all kinds of colorful knick-knacks. Many organizations and local bodies also arrange several fairs, also known as Diwali Mela.

However, the most important aspect of this festival is the Laxmi Pooja. In fact, preparations for Diwali celebrations begin with making ones house spic and span, in order to welcome and please Lakshmi, the Goddess of Wealth who descends from the heavens to shower her blessings on the night of Diwali. It is believed that she enters the house that is cleanest and most well decorated and bestows blessings for wealth, abundance and prosperity on the same household.

India stands for unity in diversity and though celebrated in several ways, Diwali unites the nation and instills in its people zest, hope, and the spirit of goodness.

For more informations about famous hindu festival diwali please visit www.indianholiday.com.

2 Pack - 27 Watts 5500K Color corrected Day Light Fluorescent Lamp Photo Bulb

This is a fluorescent 27 watts energy saving daylight photo bulb (5500 Kelvin temp.). Temporary heat units or heaters allow temperature-critical work to continue on schedule, since extreme cold temperature prevents the human body from working effectively, and help you live in a comfortable atmosphere.

Temporary heaters are available for private home use, indoor office use, as well as outdoor use camps, tents, etc. Temporary heaters can be fired either directly or indirectly by Liquefied Petroleum Gas, Natural Gas, Liquid Fuels, Solid fuels etc. Liquefied Petroleum Gas is the most workable and safe fuel and hence is the most popular fuel for temporary heat units. Solid fuels, on the contrary, are considered suitable for few areas, and are hence not advisable for uses other than those they are intended. The most apparent disadvantage of solid fuel fired temporary heaters is mainly due to the unstable characteristics of solid fuel, for which, these types of temporary heaters can be used only in open spaces. Federal laws and legislations states that solid fuel powered temporary heat units should not be used within 25 feet of any building.

Tips for using temporary heat units

Never use solid/liquid fueled temporary heaters within 10 feet of potentially flammable objects.

Ensure that a good supply of air for efficient functioning of temporary heaters.

Always keep a fire extinguisher handy when using temporary heaters

Ensure that all temporary heaters are never running unattended

Never use temporary heater units in confined spaces

Always refuel before the temperature is back to normal.

Make sure that fuel supply is cut off when your temporary heater is not in use.

Never kept extra fuel near any running temporary heating unit

If properly used, temporary heat units can be very safe, quite opposed to the claims that these lead to frequent burns, fires, explosion, CO poisoning, etc.

Myself webmaster of http://www.heatersales.com offers electric heater, air handler, adjustable temperature control, high Priority, heater rental, temporary heat, portable heat, less priority, electric heat

Blackbelt 2: Fatal Force

Tent camping is one of the more popular styles of camping. It does not require renting a camping trailer, an RV and the extra expenses like gas which will be more expensive also. Those who choose not to purchase or rent an RV can still enjoy camping just as those who do, which is why tent camping remains so popular. Whether you are camping in the Alps or Yosemite, camping can be a wonderful adventure.

Camping sites often offer amenities specific for tent campers since it is such a popular way to camp. Of course, these campgrounds have upgraded the RV amenities but still have plenty of amenities and space for tent campers. For those of you planning a tent camping trip in the near future, here is some information you may find useful to prepare yourself as far as what to expect.

If you are tent camping at a site with amenities, you should be able to expect public restrooms with toilet paper as well as public showers. The shower facilities may not be the most comfortable but they are adequate to get you cleaned up for the day. Since the camping spaces are rented, you can feel free to spark a campfire, cook and lounge around and relax.

You may also find amenities such as swimming pools, vending machines, local activity centers and hiking trails. As you see, with these types of amenities available, tent camping does not have to be as "rough" as some think roughing it is.

When you think of tent camping, you may not immediately think of the beach. But, the beach can be a great place for a camping trip. All you really need for the daytime is a tent, a towel, some shorts and a swimming suit. Of course, you may want to bring along some food which is one very good reason to bring along a tent when camping at the beach. A tent can help keep your food clean from the windy sand or weather conditions.

Finally, the woods can be an exciting and adventurous choice of tent camping but it can also be dangerous. If you opt for camping in the woods, be sure you are familiar with the area you intend on camping. Otherwise, you increase your chance of becoming lost which is something that can kill people more often than you may be aware of. Also, though you may find some great hills or mountains along the way, an attempt at climbing them should be reserved for the experienced climber or at least with an experienced climber. In general, while taking the proper precautions, tent camping in a wooded area can be a fantastic adventure!

Guy Morris wrote for the most part for http://www.munich-to-vienna-via-salzburg.com, an online publication with topics around alps mountains, Bavarian mountains and various other topics. Aside from clothing and the basics there are some other things that can help to make your trip a success. Be sure to include waterproof matches because you never know when rain or some other type of liquid might get your supplies wet. Wet matches equal no fire and no fire can be a real problem. You can buy waterproof matches or you can waterproof your own by dipping them in paraffin wax.

Pack a survival kit with enough supplies for everyone on the trip and a few extra. Include band-aids, wet wipes and power bars. Sun screen and bug spray are essential for outdoor activities as well as citronella candles to help keep bugs away at night. Take along plastic bags to put wet things in or things you need to discard. It is also good to pack anything that you don't want to get wet into plastic bags.

Pack a sweatshirt and pants even if it is the middle of summer. At night you will probably be glad that you have them and it will keep you from being miserable, shivering by the fire. Lay out your own clothing and clothing for everyone in the family to make sure that you have something for every day and pack it in your suitcase by outfit so that you can just grab your outfit and get dressed without having to dig through your suitcase. Take along a pop-up mesh container for your dirty clothes to keep them separate from the clean stuff.

Get to your campsite early so that you can set up your tent or camper and still have plenty of time to explore the area and know your surroundings before night time arrives. Keep food locked in a cooler or in the car to avoid animals and bugs getting into it. Remove dirty shoes and clothing before entering your tent or camper so that you don't have to constantly sweep the floor. You will find this particularly helpful if you are camping at the beach. Take a small broom with you just in case your tent or camper floor does get dirty.

Bring along cards, other games and reading materials in case you encounter some rainy weather. There is nothing worse then sitting in your campsite in the rain with nothing to do. Some of your best camping memories might just be playing these games or relaxing with a book.

A battery free radio is good to check up on news or impending inclement weather. You should also have some sort of hand held radio to use in case of emergencies. Bring flashlights with extra batteries. Pack maps and travel brochures in your car and your suitcase or camper. If you lose or misplace one, you will have a backup waiting for you.

Set up your campsite and tent or camper so that you can get to things easily but you still have room to move around. Keep other things away from your sleeping bags and a clear path to the door to avoid bumping into things in the middle of the night on your way to the bathroom.

Experience is the best source for ideas of what can make your camping trip fun and worry free. Columbia Sportswear Company began as a small family-owned distributorship and today Columbia is one of the world's largest outerwear companies. The history begins with Paul and Marie Lamfrom. They fled from Germany and settled in Portland, Oregon. Paul and Marie opened up a hat distributorship and named their company the Columbia Hat Company. They took the name from the nearby Columbia River. Today, their 82 year old daughter, Gert, is the Chairman of the Board and her son, Tim Boyle is President and Chief Executive Officer. Columbia Sportswear Company has a wide-range of stylish, and functional products to choose from. Columbia is famous for their Interchange System. This concept was developed in 1982 and made Columbia a leader in the outerwear industry. Columbia first started with an interchange jacket which was made for hunting and featured a weatherproof outershell with an insulating inner jacket that could be worn together or separately, thus making each parka three or four garments in one. Because of the popularity of this garment, Columbia applied the same concept to a ski parka and called it the Bugaboo™. The Bugaboo became one of the best-selling ski jackets in history. In 1991, Columbia developed a waterproof, breathable coating Omni-Tech which makes it now the second-largest user of waterproof, breathable fabric in the world.
Customer Review: Wrong product description
The product description section contains the description of the company and how it is founded. Columbia Hawk Ridge 10- by 7-Foot Three-Person Dome Tent M'Caceres

Free kids games are something that we are all searching for over the holiday season. The television and computer will only stimulate kids to a certain level without truly engaging them. Games that enhance their creativity and imagination are what really inspires and enlivens kids. There are a wide range of free, fun and simple kids games to play these holidays- here's our Top 5 ideas to get you started!

Top 5 Free Kids Games / Activities for the Holidays

1. Musical Games- Children love a chance to dance and jump around, especially if they are stuck indoors. Put on their favorite kiddy tunes and let them jump and stomp around. It will be even more fun if they have friends and instruments to accompany them. If you don't have any real instruments, a homemade shaker or lid and spoon will do just fine!

2. Dressing Up Games- For kids the dress-ups box is a fantastic resource for stories, make-believe or any kind of imaginative play. Pretending to be shop-keepers, truck drivers, mums and dads, doctors, or animals, will keep kids entertained for hours. The more props the better so always have a store of blankets for cubbies or tents and assorted boxes for cars, dolls beds or wherever their imagination takes them.

3. Treasure Hunt- A treasure hunt can be set up indoors or out, for a group of kids or just one or two kids. It gets their minds working searching for clues and the excitement builds as they get closer to completeing the task. Just remember to set the clues at the appropriate level for the ages of the children who are playing the game. Clues that are too hard will put children off playing the game!

4. Craft Activities- By using cheap or available materials around your home your child's creativity will create an amazing array of craft projects. Investing in a kids craft book will keep a ready supply of inspiration and give ideas for materials to be keeping. A store of recyclables like cereal boxes, toilet rolls, candy wrappers, magazines and yoghurt containers will provide a ready supply of resources. If your kids are not interested in glueing and pasting they can try modelling with play dough, plasticine or even paper mache.

5. Indoor Games- A great way to relieve the boredom on a rainy day whether you are at home or away on holidays. Indoor games can include simple card or board games, from matching pairs for younger children, or Scrabble or Monopoly for the older kids. Group games like these help them with numerical skills, taking turns and gamesmanship. Best of all they are easy to set up and can last for hours and can involve all the family.

So get the kids out from being sat in front of the tv or computer and involve them in some great free kids games these holidays!

The place to go for all your games needs for 0-8 year olds is Kids Fun and Games. Educational baby and toddler games, party games, crafts, indoor and outdoor games, festivals and much more.

ABO Gear Tot Insta-Tent for Children - Blue - SPF 50

Still dishing out the same old party themes for your kids? How about the "tween" in the family? For the next birthday, make the party most memorable for your 12-year-old. These party ideas will set you apart as the coolest mom and dad in the block.

Party Uppers

Children ages 9 to 12 are at an awkward age, but give them a fun party and they'll lap it up. Since they are not official teenagers and no longer the little ones, giving them a party they can enjoy can tax your imagination and stamina. These tween party ideas will give your tween star status in the neighborhood.

Let the tween in you help you along these party ideas. If you've decided to host a Safari Sleepover, schedule it on a Friday night. The timing is right. The kids can catch some extra zzzs after a night of fun. But be sure to announce that the pick-up time for the kids is at 10 the following day.

An outdoor sleepover is a good idea, but for the kids' safety, have the tents installed indoors. Put up a hotdog and harshmallow grill, but don't forget to add a salad and animal-shaped sandwiches. Fill GI canteens with juice and distribute them among the guests. Let them whoop it up in the lawn - dancing and organized games - until you announce that it's bedtime. Girls should be separated from boys if it's a mixed party.

A tween party idea young girls enjoy is the "pajama dress-up" party. The girls can bring along their blings. Let them have a go at putting up makeup and do other girly things they all want to do - fix their hair, paint their nail with fun colors, and do a pajama fashion show. Of course, expect the girls to stay up late watching videos, swapping ghost stories, and doing just about anything. Girls are wont to do that when they are together.

If your tween loves to rock, she or he will be inviting like-minded friends. Host a rock party they won't forget. A '70s disco-themed party is a novel experience for the young ones. Clear the living room, install a disco globe, and get dance music they'll rock to. To make it more authentic, hire a neighborhood DJ who can do the spinning. Be sure to keep a bottomless supply of the kids' favorite eats, drinks, and munchies.

A beach party theme is also a welcome idea, whether you have a pool or not. Decorate the party venue with shell wired garlands, paper balls, mock palm trees, and surfboards. Prepare more than a dozen rubber slippers. Use colorful fish platters to serve your beach fare. Ask the guests to come in their favorite beach bum attire. If you have a pool, make sure that a lifeguard is around to watch over the kids.

Before the Party

Schedule the party on a weekend before the actual birthday. Get invitations to go with the party theme. A pillow invitation for a sleep over, a papier mache conch shell for the beach party, and a map invitation for the safari or treasure hunt party. Shop for party favors and ask your tween for the type of music he or she wants for the party. To make your shopping a convenient jaunt, have your money organized in one of those money clip wallets, and bring along the list of things you must buy for the party.

Call up the parents and ask for any restrictions on movies to watch and any food allergies to avoid potential problems. To help you out, ask the neighbors' tweens to come over. They'll enjoy the party too. If you have smaller kids, let them have a guest or two so they won't feel left out of the fun.

Make your party planning more convenient by keeping cash in a magnetic money clip and storing your party favor suppliers' contact cards in personalized business card holders.
